Marleny relocated to Miami from Venezuela in the year 2000. She was immediately welcomed into the MARJCC family and worked as the Director of the Hebraica program from the year 2000 to 2005. At that time, Marleny took an extended hiatus to focus on family and other business pursuits. In 2009, at the request of the JCC, Marleny returned to the J and once again took the helm of the Hebraica program. Over the last ten years, under her tenure as Director, the Hebraica program has expanded its scope of services and program offerings, experienced unprecedented registration, developed an incredible relationship with many community partners and sponsors, successfully hosted over 2,000 participants per year in the annual Maccabi games, and most importantly, prepared over 5,000 youth to be Jewish leaders in today’s world.
Marleny will now be bringing her experience as a successful Hebraica Director, her passion for Jewish communal work and, her leadership ability and overall creativity, into her new role as the Director of Camp Sol Taplin at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC.
